Meet the team

Six filmmakers. One standard of craft.

Estevan Valdes

Founder / Head Creative -- Producer / Director / Writer / Cinematographer / Editor / Colorist

Estevan Valdes is the founder and creative director of Uno Somos Films. A graduate of the University of Central Florida's Film and Television Production program and the University of Georgia's MFA program in Film and TV Production, he has spent the past several years building a body of work that spans documentary, narrative fiction, commercial production, and corporate video.

On the production side, he has served as director, cinematographer, DIT, editor, and colorist -- which means the creative pipeline from first shot to final grade runs through the same person. Recent commercial work includes promotional productions for Short Barrel in Atlanta, Whiskey Tree Bourbon in New Orleans, and Ascending Capital Management. He also worked as producer and line producer on OG Stories alongside Dame Dash, a project that went to Paramount+.

The son of Colombian and Cuban immigrants, Estevan is bilingual in English and Spanish -- a credential that matters in a city like Orlando and in a production company that believes the best stories come from the people who have lived them. Before film, he played professional golf.

Kyle Curtiss

Production and Business Manager -- Director / Camera Operator / Sound / Social Media

Kyle Curtiss is the production and business manager at Uno Somos Films and one of the more quietly credentialed people in the Orlando production world. A graduate of the University of Central Florida's Entertainment Business program, he has worked across film production, live entertainment, broadcast audio, and social media -- often at the same time.

At the production level, he served as production assistant and line producer on OG Stories, the Paramount+ series produced alongside Dame Dash. He was part of the opening teams at Epic Universe at Universal Studios and Blue Man Group at Cirque du Soleil in Orlando -- both of which required the kind of high-stakes, no-second-take execution that sets live entertainment apart from studio work. He has also operated the Qu-16 audio console as board operator for The Daily Flash and other recording sessions, and worked as a camera operator on commercial shoots including work with Sony FX9.

On the social and business side, Kyle built the Screen Sessions YouTube channel from zero to more than 700,000 views and 40,000 subscribers since its launch in January 2025. He oversees production operations, client development, and scheduling at Uno Somos Films -- making sure every project has what it needs before anyone steps on set.

Ian Ray

Creative -- Director / Writer / Actor / Editor

Ian Ray is a filmmaker and actor from Central Illinois who came up through the University of Central Florida's film program, where he earned his degree in film with a minor in Theatre. He has been a storyteller in one form or another since he was a kid -- writing, acting, and directing across formats that range from short narrative film to live stage.

At Uno Somos Films, Ian brings a performer's instinct to everything he does on set. His background in theatre informs how he works with actors and how he approaches the human side of a scene -- the part that cannot be fixed in post. Whether he is writing a script, directing a sequence, or stepping in front of the camera, his commitment to the work is consistent.

Nicolas Scott

Cinematographer -- Director / Writer / Editor

Nicolas Scott is a Florida native with a degree in Film. He is an expert camera operator and has built a strong foundation in pre-production work within the camera department -- which means he is not just thinking about the shot in front of him, but the four shots that follow it.

His editing work is experimental without being indulgent. He looks for the cut that surprises, the lighting choice that changes the mood, the framing that makes a viewer lean forward. He has a particular affinity for horror -- a genre that demands precise visual craft and punishes anything lazy. At Uno Somos Films, he brings that same precision to every type of project.

Ryan Frazier

Writer / Actor / Editor

Ryan Frazier is the kid who watched the same movies over and over until he understood how they worked. That habit became a career. He started editing in high school, got serious about it in theatre, and has been finding new ways to tell stories ever since -- in writing, on stage, and in the edit bay.

Today Ryan is a writer and editor for The Vicious Racket and co-host of Screen Sessions, where he brings his background in film analysis and criticism to conversations about cinema that actually go somewhere. He also plays thirteen instruments, which is the kind of fact that sounds made up but is not.

Chris Lewis

Director / Writer / Editor

Christopher Lewis is an Atlanta-based filmmaker who completed his MFA in Film at the University of Georgia. He works in genre storytelling -- the kind of filmmaking that uses atmosphere, tension, and visual style to do things that straight drama cannot. His characters tend to carry their worlds on their backs, and his frames tend to feel like they are hiding something.

Chris wrote and directed The Damned Thing for Uno Somos Films -- a production that required over a year of pre-production, a 50-person crew, a stunt coordinator, a VFX team, and an SFX makeup artist, and was shot in five days. He frequently collaborates with his twin brother on new projects. Both are working filmmakers.
